Here are some photos from a recent visit to Colchester in Essex, where I roamed around the ruins and remnants of St. Botolph’s Priory, a medieval house of Augustinian canons. It was founded circa 1093. Aparently, the priory had the distinction of being the first and leading Augustinian convent in England until its dissolution in 1536.
